COLLEGE OF SCIENCE & ENGINEERING
New science welcomes the curious
Edinburgh has always been a world leader in scientific research. It is among the top five research universities in the UK and top 25 universities in the world. In the Research Assessment Exercise 2008, Edinburgh’s College of Science and Engineering ranked first in Scotland for research.
Our fundraising projects aim to capitalise on our existing profile of excellence in research and teaching, by promoting cross-disciplinary research and investing in our staff and students. Our goal is to be a global leader in research on the major challenges facing the 21st century, including environmental change, renewable energy and resources, global security and health. We will also train the next generation of innovators, skilled and adaptable scientists and engineers who are expert in their discipline.
Our key projects include the transformation of the King’s Buildings Campus, to create a 21st Century learning environment, a Climate Change Centre and the Informatics Forum.
