Nursing Studies at the University of Edinburgh is organising a conference on the future of Nurse Education. The conference is a high profile event and will honour the late Professor Margaret Scott Wright first professor of nursing studies in the UK who was one of the founders of academic nurse education while at the University of Edinburgh. The conference will provide a platform to hear about Professor Scott Wright, and other nursing 'Greats' who have inspired and led the profession on the national, international and global stage. As nursing moves towards to an all graduate profession, it is important to ask questions about the past in order to influence the future.

What impact does nursing have on care, health and wellbeing? And what drives the agenda for the future preparation of the health care workforce in a global world?

This unique event will bring together policy makers, educational and clinical leaders, frontline educators, researchers and practitioners, students and alumni.
Participatory Action Workshops will enable delegates to ask questions and contribute to a route map to guide future perspectives for nursing and nurse education.

Participatory Action Workshops will follow Four Themes:
Great Narratives
Gender & Diversity
Graduation & Education
Globalization & Communication
