New director appointed to Development and Alumni

Kirsty MacDonald, Development Director of Wadham College at the University of Oxford, is to join Edinburgh's Development and Alumni team.

Ms MacDonald has been appointed Director of Development and Alumni.

She will begin her role in July.

Ms MacDonald has 20 years of fundraising experience in North America and the UK.

At Wadham, she manages a team responsible for fundraising, alumni and events, which is close to completing the first phase of the College’s £50 million campaign.

She is also a Fellow of the College.

Her previous experience spans both higher education and the arts.

She has worked for the Smith School of Enterprise & the Environment at the University of Oxford, the London Business School, English National Opera and Glyndebourne.

Ms MacDonald says:

I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Director to lead the team to even greater success with the next phase of the campaign. I would like to say congratulations to the entire team for the tremendous success already achieved, and in particular to the three deputies who have clearly played a major role in leading the campaign towards its goal.
