The Disconnected Mind

Back to the Medical research page.

Six eminent scientists from various parts of the University have joined together to investigate the ageing mind. Using data collected in the Scottish Mental Surveys of 1932 and 1947 the group will conduct the first comprehensive study of its kind. Determining the causes of cognitive decline can then lead to the development of preventative treatments, bringing us one step closer to a society in which older generations can live dignified, active and happy lives in their later years.
